Samsung Galaxy S5

Hi everyone,

Please can anyone help me with creating a new sound profile on the S5?
Theres only 3 options , sound, mute and vibrate.

I want to create a profile called CALLS only (i.e my phone will ring if its a call but everything else is silent.)
I tried going to vibrate and adjusting the other notifications to silent and putting the calls on sound but then it automatically switches me to the Sound Profile i.e I'm not allowed to adjust the profile in that way.

I'm puzzled why this basic feature is not present in the latest smartphone...even my blackberry and the old nokias had this feature

Use blocking mode. It does exactly what you want.

If Samsung added or didn't add a feature its because someone else added or didn't add a feature. They may have their faults as a company but being lazy about copying what other people are doing rather than innovating is not one of them.

Thanks AstroTurf ! I'll use this going forward

@ Midnight_choir_drunk - Copying a good feature which is useful is not necessarily a bad thing. That's why companies pay to use patented technology in their devices.

I still feel choosing it from the blocking mode is a bit cumbersome though as it means I have to do two actions.
eg lets say I'm in a meeting and I put my phone on silent. When I'm done, then I have to switch it to Sound and then go to blocking mode, as opposed to just switching to calls only.
The ability to add a profile is something basic that they should really add.
Maybe theres an App for it
 
You can schedule blocking mode so all it would take is to put on silent for the meeting and turn silent off after the meeting to be back in calls only mode. I wonder if you could use an NFC tag to make it even easier...

Since I have a gear 2 I just leave my phone on silent at work and use the watches vibrate and notifications.
 
Vodafone Protect spammed me about monthly subscriptions one time too many so I killed it. Since Google and Samsung have tracking what's the point.
 
Got a Nashua mobile pamphlet today.They are offering the S5 on Vodacom Smart S for R399 pm until August 6.Not bad it usually goes for R489 pm.

Just the normal 200mb plus 250 mb bonus data.Its a good saving R90x24=R2160.It might be the begining of a price reduction for the S5.Come September when the Note 4 and the iPhone 6 and mabe even the Xperia Z3 are released the S5 and the Note3 must reduce in price.
 
Weird battery life issue here.

When my phone is locked and screen is on, CPU usage hangs around 20%.
Unlock it, and CPU drops to 0-3%.

Any idea why?

(fingerprint unlock activated, btw)
 
AND the fcking charging cover thing just broke off.

Get hold of Samsung support on their chat thingy and bitch and moan about quality. Chances are they will fix it for nothing.
