Samsung Galaxy S5

I'm going back to KitKat, battery life is much worse for me with Lollipop.

Yes, I reckon Samsung still needs to fine tune Lollipop with TouchWiz and their hardware.

Mind you, that is what they said and why they only released it in Poland and South Korea thus far.

Look at the bright side - you will get Silent Mode back. :D

Also, the heads up notifications drove me absolutely insane. Really don't like how they are done because every app sets itself to high priority so the heads up notification system just get's used for everything in the end.

Will put Lollipop on my S3 to play around with until it becomes more polished on the S5.

That's it. Knox will never trip if you use an official Samsung ROM, but might trip if you use the wrong ROM for your phone.

The LTE version of the S5 is called SM-G900F. If you are not sure, just go Settings > About Device .

And that's all there is to it. For the physical flashing, just search Google, thousands of articles have been written about it.

Anyone have a local / direct link for this Stock ROM?
All I find is rapidgator and ul.to links.. and they bomb out since I do not have premium..

Have a look at sammobile.com. Go to the firmware tab, and select the firmware you want. The UK btu works well, as it does not have a lot of bloatware.

Don't become disheartened when the download starts off really slow, I had that with my HSPA+.

Even on LTE, it never went faster than 400kbps. Just kick the download off before you go to bed.

Yes, definitely!

The UK BTU ROM is a completely unbloated ROM and uses much less RAM.

The Vodacom ROM is seriously bloated with crappy apps. :(
 
The missing Silent Mode quick setting in Android 5.0, a.k.a. Lollipop :

Google has fixed it, but Samsung will only have the fix available in the Android 5.1 ROM for the S5, which might still be a long way off. :(
 
My phone on lollipop did an ota update today. Facebook works again. Also, I made a split second vibrate that I use now. As close to silent as can be.
