It's great to see the Dec's work being published by Samsung finally.
Do any of you guys have the "halo" effect around the edge of your glass protector? The screen doesn't seem to adhere correctly along the edge because of the chamfered edges. I've tried 3 different glass protectors. All 4 have the same issue.

I'm on 5.1.1 using unikernel v2_003 and ram management is a lot better.
I can't say it's because of the 5.1.1 update that's fixed it because the unikernel has some DHA tweaks set in the default.prop in the kernel ramdisk.
I'm using the unikernel as currently it's the only way to get root on 5.1.1 on the S6

I'm not rooted. Google services app used to drain a lot of battery, on sleep.
Once I disabled background data and did a hard boot, battery drain was substantially less.
But now it seems like the Android OS is the culprit.
I just did the system cache wipe. So will see by tmrw if its been sorted.
Google services battery drain is one of the driving reasons why I needed to root. Without root I can't use app ops and disable service to reign in the Google services wake locks.
I really wish Google would sort it's shyte out these wake locks have been a bear bug for a long while now.
Nope my battery usage almost halfed tested it for 7 days.
Battery usage went from average of 17 hours per day to around 8 - 9 hours
OS killing it.

I'm just so hesitant about flashing software. There's always that complete gut-clench moment during the 'do not remove cable' stage, and I just don't know that it's worth the risk of potentially bricking my phone.
As for the Vodacom stuff, I pretty much uninstalled everything, so that's not an issue.
Don't worry I was also shiat scared, but this is not rooting it's just updating the firmware.
No apps or app data gets lost, no settings gets changes and the total set up took less than 9 minutes

ok ok Thor, I'll read back here to see where the link to the latest firmware for my 'regular' S6 is, not the edge variant.
I wouldn't be too worried about bricking your phone loading software via Odin. I haven't heard of anyone bricking their phone doing that.
I once had my laptop battery died about 60%TL through updating via Odin. I thought my phone was toast but it wasn't.
Just pulled out the battery and booted into Odin mode and tried again. This time making sure the laptop was plugged in AND charging.
Also if you brick it loading original stock firmware I'm sure you can get it fixed at a Samsung agent for free.
I posted it here somewhere it's on my mega account since I also have the normal one. Not the edge

I upgraded my S6 (not edge) with the link thor posted. Took 10 minutes and went smoothly. Just make sure you have the latest ODIN version...
