To be honest, I prefer the note 4, Looks better and has an SD card slot too.

Can't wait to see the note 5 though.

+1

Agreed. Note is the way to go with Samsung and it appears the battery life is going to suck.

Indeed!

I get the feeling that Samsung are trying to push those of us who are 'heavy users' towards the Note range, its a trend I've been noticing since the Note 2, year after year the gap between the S and Note widens up. So if I am correct about this, the Note 5 should have a MicroSD slot along with an even more premium build and larger battery than the Note 4.

Have noticed that as well, and have gone with the Note since it first lauched.

The Note comes out with the heavy hitting technological advances and innovations, and they are transferred to the S-Series the next year.
With a lot of the improvements in the S6, you read something along the lines of ".... like that found on the Note 4..."

I don't agree with this. The Note betters on the S, and then the S betters on the Note.

Did you watch the event? The camera is better, the screen is higher PPI, more premium build, touch-based instead of slide-based fingerprint sensor, samsung pay, DDR4 RAM which is I don't know how many times faster that the DDR3 found in the Note 4, wireless charging built in! How is any of this "....like that found on the Note 4..."?

Ah you are right, but do you think 20mAh makes such a big difference? I mean, the Note 4 has got the QHD screen and all as well.

If the S6 is even more efficient than the Note 4,it can only be awesome.

Well have to wait for real reviews on the battery life when people get the devices and put it through its paces.

Everyone I know who jumped from Galaxy to Note are not even looking at the S6. Anyway back on topic.

I am. I went S2 -> S4 -> Note 3 -> S5 - Note 4 -> and will be going S6ege. Battery life is not the begin all and end all for me in a phone. I have a car charger and a charger at my desk if I need to charge my phone.

For me battery life is the most important factor.

As soon as we hear from Sony about the Z4 I will check the battery life on both devices and choose the one with the best stats.

People decrying the battery capacity- you guys do realise that the chipset is quite a bit more efficient than what's found in other devices, being the only one at 14nm? Battery capacity isn't the be all and end all of battery life. Also, the Note 4 is meant to have greater battery life than the Galaxy S-line, that's part of the appeal of a phablet.

If anything, it's good to see Samsung differentiating their devices. For too long was the Note-line a blown up Galaxy S* with a stylus.

Keen to see what the S6 Edge can do.

Interesting how priorities differ. The things that peeved off the most people seems to be the lack of removable back and lack of SD. Two things I couldn't care less about at this stage. Haven't used an SD card since back in the day with a schitty BB. And don't have a removable back on my current phone and haven't missed it from my S3.

Same here. Apple have not offered those features ever, yet set sales and profit records off the back of their latest iPhone. Samsung realise that all those supposed features a) don't improve the bottom line and b) can be lived without.

Yeah. I think there's 2 distinct groups among Samsung buyers. Those that moaned about the plastic and cheap feel, who will be happy now. And those who didn't mind the plastic in the first place, and who are now annoyed at lack of features those phones had.

I'm on my second battery on my 26 month old S3. A removable battery extends the life of a device IMO. I would not buy a 24 month old phone if it has a non-removable battery.

I know that it looks pretty cool, but is there any real world functionality that we can use the edges for?

Yeah it does. I think they're banking on most people not keeping the phone that long. I know I didn't want my S3 that long.

Ruler? :p

I'm not even sure that they're specifically Samsung buyers. I think that they merely flocked to Samsung because other vendors eschewed those features a while back.

True, but I don't think I'd want a device for longer than that anyway. Equally, that doesn't mean that non-removable batteries are any less reliable, and could be more reliable because they are fixed.

I don't have a need for the add on storage slot - never used mine on my S4.

I have lived the last 22 months with my S4 using the extra battery kit which came with a spare battery - nothing more frustrating than having to use the phone while wired into a wall socket to charge - I found swapping batteries much easier to live with.

I will miss the second battery, but am glad the phone will be made from better materials now. I will buy a charging mat for my desk at work - whenever I sit down, the phone comes out of my pocket and sits on the desk anyways.

I just can't decide whether the EDGE will be worth the extra bucks over the normal S6. I also am keen to see what ADH is offered with these devices.

Samsung is the last big guy to move over to built in battery.

LG, HTC and Sony already did it. So not really copying Apple ;)

Well, yes it is copying Apple - but it's just the last of the big manufacturers to copy :D

As for me, I will wait for the Note 5 at the end of this year. The Note range appeals to me more - hopefully they will keep the SD card slot on the Note 5

The S6 also comes with wireless charging, so it can be charged while just lying on your desk provided you have a wireless charger. No cables or wires attached to the phone at all.
