I think the way it was flashed by removing the hidden.img tripped Knox, the video I posted where the guy says it doesn't trip Knox he disabled auto reboot in Odin, flashed the firmware, reset Odin and reentered download mode and then flashed the hidden.img file before restarting the phone.

I don't think it's knox thats tripped... enter download mode and check the indicator... some people had the same problem on the S7 nougat flashes as well...

tbh i didn't have a lot of issues with my G4, where other people had tons... so maybe i'm not the right person to ask... same with the S6... but I'm not really a heavy user in any case.
Thanks, my G4 battery life was ok not amazing at all, fast charging saved it though.

definitely not amazing.... the only phones i've ever had that could be classified as amazing with battery life, is note 3, note 4, s7edge, iphone 7plus... my current v20 is not too bad either.

just by flashing the original firmware?

I think because people deleted the hidden.img file it was then seen as custom firmware.

The way not to trip Knox is to not have your phone reboot through the whole process, compress the hidden.img file into its own tar file, untick auto reboot in Odin, flash the firmware, reset Odin which will then set auto reboot on, restart download mode, flash hidden.tar after which your phone will reboot.

That's weird. I entered download mode and my Knox status is 0. This means the knox was NOT tripped as far as I am aware.

correct, confirmed with my daughter's phone as well.
This has to be the weirdest firmware flashing experience i have ever had.

Some people got the vodaphone app (like me) others didn't. Some people tripped Knox (not me) and others didn't.

Never seen that before.
