Wanna root and perhaps flash a ROM to my S6.

This is the first Android device which I haven't rooted almost immediately after getting it. KNOX putting me off.

Rooting an S6 is like putting mag wheels onto your new Golf GTI 7. Missing the point ain't even the beginning.

Here's something useful to do with a new S6, though - activate the built-in SOS feature*

* Yes yes, this probably isn't 'new' either, just another milestone for discovery

Root access isn't pimping your phone. It allows access to the root partition of Linux - basically makes you an administrator. It also allows you to remove system apps or install specific apps that require root access. Full control of your device.

LOL I wanted gauge how my battery compared! I have only had the phone for 2 days now but ive been getting about SOT of 3.5-4 hours after 2 charge cycles. What about you !?

Seems high, unless you're still in that early phase where you're playing with the phone a lot, lol. Here's mine (almost a perfect match to genetic above):


Where genetic whips me though is in on battery time and battery left ... currently on battery for 15 hours and 9 minutes, and down to 31% battery. That's with moderate use of mobile and wifi data throughout the day though, so I guess that makes up for the difference.
