Recent developments in gaming have changed my stance on the matter. 4K HDR at 120Hz requires serious horsepower, as will the VR headsets coming out this year.

I just read about 4k hdr on whathifi. Just wow. This also reminded me that I need a 4k uhd TV for the 4k content on Netflix (I am current on HD content).
