I cannot understand what Samsung is up to here. Unless they are planning to sell this at below Nexus 7" prices this makes zero sense. The Tab series of tablets is going downhill fast.
They appear currently to not have a tablet strategy at all. Look at their branding it's totally messed up. Tab 7 1 2 and 3 are essentially the same. Tab 10 and Note 10.1 are the same. Their best screen is in a non-Samsung branded tablet. I keep waiting for them to release the bombshell sgs4 equivalent to take on iPad and it never happens.
My money is on Sony. Samsung blows very hot and very cold ... weird ... as if there are two different Samsung teams ... an "A" team and a "B" team working on devices. This stupid tablet may even suggest a "C" team ... the special class.
. One would hope so yes.And yet, for all that it *appears* this thing is no improvement (and IS a couple of steps back to boot), it seems to be faster than the Tab 2. Lifted from that gsmarena page:

This is what frustrates me with HTC ... no tablet strategy whatsoever. They were ahead of the industry with the Flyer ... a truly brilliant little tablet. We have many tablets of various brands and sizes at work and the techies all prefer the Flyers of which we still have three. Why HTC decided not to do another Flyer is beyond comprehension. People were shaking their heads about these mad Taiwanese that brought out this smaller tablet ... and now? Now everyone is into doing it. Samsung is even doing the stylus thing that HTC had with the Flyer. HTC, just like Samsung, makes some weird strategy decisions. HTC could have owned so much more of the market by now ... but some fool in the organisation killed the tablet ... (shakes my head in disbelief).
It baffles me how they didn't see what they had with the Flyer.
