Does this compete against the Dell Streak (mini 5)?
The Streak could be a better compromise- portable tablet/phone. A tablet itself is a little useless (IMO).

ipad has a 10" screen (I think), the Streak a 5"
Galaxy tablet is in the middle @ 7" If it were capable of making calls, it would put it one up on the ipad and level or better than the Streak.
That is what I would look for though. A go-anywhere, converged device that removes the need for separate items: phone, netbook, storage device, media player/ipod and perhaps a camera.
There are too many lekker gadgets to get them all
