Samsung Repair Mode lets technicians fix your smartphone without wiping it

Samsung is introducing a new feature — Repair Mode — to protect users' data when they ship their Galaxy smartphones to a repair centre, according to a report from SamMobile.

The new feature is essentially a way of securing personal data while allowing technicians to access what they need to repair the smartphone.

good stuff. I do like the idea of blocking access to all data when phone is in for repairs.

But like all other "protections" this will be cracked sooner than later...

At least I'll rest easy knowing it's much harder for them to access my nudes.;)

@Jan - maybe you should do an article on the level of service for Cellphone brands like Samsung and Iphone?

i.e Repair times for certain repairs, stock on hand for repairs, service centers vs 3rd party repairers,

I noticed Samsung outsources a lot of their work now to 3rd party providers.
