Samsung may provide Apple next gen iPhone processor

Ah man...just seems so counter productive for them to have all this legal issues. Honestly.
The devices are different enough in the OS that there shouldn't be any issue.

Samsung have been providing Apple with chips ever since the iPhone4 so this is hardly news.

ROFL...

Apple: Stop copying our phones!!!
Samsung: See you in court.
Apple: On the other hand won't you please make our new chip
Samsung: Sure (smiles maniacally) :wtf:

this is really getting confusing.....lol
clearly apple are scared, so they resorted to schoolboy style games.....theres no stopping the east man, join or crumble....(apple crumble) hahaha

I think it is important to note that Samsung would just be manufacturing the A6 processor. The A6 is a custom processor designed by Apple.
TSMC was going to be manufacturing it, but their yield rates were too low, so Samsung is being called in again to build them (Samssung also manufactured the A4 and A5 chips for Apple)

Regardless, it makes no sense to be in business with your biggest competitor.

Samsung relies on Apple as they get a large revenue from making the chips and Apple relies on Samsung to get the chips at a cheaper cost.

Apple honestly shouldn't have started this patent war.

Samsung shouldn't have blatantly copied Apple's designs - http://www.phonesreview.co.uk/2011/09/29/samsung-copying-apple-is-turning-into-a-joke/
But I agree, a situation where one of your biggest manufacturers has not become one of your biggest competitors is is not healthy

Yeah, they're terrified
"The company also recently proclaimed the Galaxy S II to be its fastest selling smartphone ever, moving 3 million units in 55 days."
Apple did 4 million in 3 days...

Is there a reason you cut off the "exclusively within the Korean market" part?

Anyway doen't matter how you spin it, iPhone with their single model strategy is in danger.

How are they in danger? The single model strategy for the iPhone accounts for almost $11 Billion in net profit for them in 2011.
They only have 5 Mac models, including the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, and that generates $5 Billion in net profit

Well according to the article referenced {http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=23042} the galaxy s and s2 have sold almost 30 million devices in just over a one year period compared to the 100 million apple has shipped in over 4 years. With the galaxy line the first true competitor to the iphone {for the android platform} has emereged. If samsung build heavily on this line the biggest issue of android would dissapear> fragmentation since samsung would be able to support and release updates for most android phones on a consistent basis.

That being said I don't believe apple are anywhere near in danger, thay are still the worlds largest or second largest company worth almost 400 billion US dollars.

But it would also seem wall street is losing faith in apple
