Hey hey

I need some clarification here:confused: Some threads here say unanimously that the Samsung 2233GW is a better monitor, which some say that the Samsung 2253 is better... and then still some say that the 2233 has been discontinued while some say that the 2253 has been discontinued. I phoned PC International a week ago and was told that the 2253 was the latest model and that they would have stock in mid-Feb. I phone today and I am told that no, the 2253 is discontinued and that they will have 2233 in stock in Feb.

Someone please explain this mess of opinions!

(and if anyone has some good deals on these samsung monitors, please PM me:) I'm looking to buy two of them)

Yeah it is confusing. But don't worry the 2232, 2233, 2253 all have amazing picture quality.
 
It comes down to personal preference. They are all great monitors. The 2253 as far as I know has matt screen where as the 2233 is gloss. Some people prefer one over the other. I had gloss and now have matte and personally I way prefer the matte. - I also heard from Sahara that the 2233 has been discontinued, or at least they are not getting anymore, but some places say they are getting stock end of Feb. I got the 2333 which is the latest in Samsungs line and I would personally recommend this. The 2233 is also great if you can get your hands on one. I know for the price they have been going for they are flying off the shelves.

I sold my 2232 as the screen colouring was really not great. Unless you getting it second hand at a good price I would rather get the 2333 or 2233.
 
I disagree the 2232 is very dull compared to the rest. it looks good if you don't know any better but once you see something better you know :).

Yeah looks good until you see a 2233 :) then you dont want it anymore.
 
I am struggling with the same issue. Wanted the 2233GW, then the 2253GW and because of all the EOF issues, I am very confused at the moment.

I can, however, get a T220 (Rose Black Series) at a very reasonable price, so I think I'm going to take that one. It's also 2ms, 22" and has a contrast ratio of 20000:1.

Anyone that has experience of this monitor?

Some say he's high gloss, some say he's matte, some say he's EOL...

All we know is he's called Ben Collins :p
 
Knowing that there is a newer model out there, would you buy the 2233GW for R2100?
 
Well, would you guys buy the T220? I can get it for +/- R400 more than what the 2233GW / 2253GW would have cost me, and considering the fact that the 2233GW is EOL...

I was actually just about to suggest that. Just get the T220. Problem solved.

Where'd you get the T220?
 
Yay! Just ordered my T220! WooT! I got it from a local supplier in my town, he's getting it from Frontosa in JHB.
He's prices are +/- R100 cheaper than most online stores...

Looking forward to this baby!
