I have a dead Note II 16Gb from what appears to be the Sudden Death Syndrome but the ****s at cacell are trying to pass it off as physical damage so I need somewhere I can have the phone assessed and a report provided as to the cause of the damage. Is there any such place in GP?

I don't get how the **** the motherboard gets physical damage without affecting the outside of the phone . I think with a report in hand I will head to small claims court. Phone not under Samsung warranty, cacell didn't tell me they were selling grey imports.

Which area? There is a Samsung repair center just off the N12 in Boksburg.

Cell clinic. They are a certified Samsung repair centre. And their service is excellent. http://www.cellclinic.co.za

i'm looking to buy samsung phone particularly to avoid the bloatware and spyware on the cheaper chinese phones.

if one buys a phone by Game / Makro / Takealot how can you be sure it's not a grey import?

I'm sure, or at least i'm hoping, these big stores will honor a warrentee , but i'm worried about the spyware stuff.
Does a grey import mean it's still an official samsung product, not some chinese knockoff.

“Grey” goods or parallel imports are goods that have been imported into a country through unofficial or unauthorized distribution channels. Grey goods are not illegal. But because they have not been imported through official channels, if the good breaks, the official supplier will refuse to uphold the warranty.

Samsung has its own store. Buy it from them directly. I know there is one in Canal Walk and Waterfront in Cape Town too.
