SAMSUNG rubbish

The Newton rings is a well known design flaw in the new 10.1 tablets, I am with BeVonk on this one.

Its a known problem, joke is if it was Apple they would have been taken to the cleaners long time ago... Hell just look at the "You holding it wrong" issue on iPhone 4.

Samsung is giving Android a bad name, then again as mentioned before I would stay away from Samsung phones. Lucky the QC problem is not on all their products, as I enjoy my Samsung TV very much.

I suspect that this problem is not as prominent in the media yet because sales are blocked in many of the more vocal markets due to patent litigation. The Media's main attention is on all Samsung's other problems atm. The big storm may still be on the way, unless Samsung cleans this mess quickly, effectively and quietly. I hope something is being done.

Historically expectations of Samsung products have been relatively conservative so I don't see much of an outcry over this issue. By contrast everyone expects near perfection from Apple products so each and every flaw is a universal disaster.

I wish someone that really understands what is causing the "Newton rings" in this specific case can explain it to us. To me it looks like light passing through a liquid that is under pressure between two glass panels is causing the effect. Clearly case warping is at play because the liquid moves around when one presses the case on the sides. My take on this is that the case has no "expansion joints" and that any heat expansion creates pressure. My concern then is if this will damage the LCD panel over time?

Maybe time for MyBB to do an article on this and get a formal response from Samsung?

To further frustrate me there is no data counter that works correctly on the P7500. On MTN I have no way to know how much data I've used and have left. My ActiveMTN still don't show me data usage ... there is no USSD code app for the P7500 and no MTN sms service to get data balances. Still no reply from MTN in the MTN section ... Help Desk can't help. What a royal f-up. MTN plus Samsung is a match made in hell.

Just an update guys, picked up my replacement tab from the Samsung Head office in bryanston this afternoon. Charging it right now.
I told them if I get newton rings again I am bringing it back and again they said no problem.
Fingers crossed that I wont have a problem with the new one. Shall keep you updated as time goes

Mith, glad you are sorted. I've not had any response from either Samsung or MTN yet. Bryanston is unfortunately too far from me ... :D
