SAMSUNG rubbish

If anyone has an e-mail address for someone high up at MTN that I can contact please PM it to me.

Mith, glad you are sorted. I've not had any response from either Samsung or MTN yet. Bryanston is unfortunately too far from me ... :D

sorry mate, pm me your number, will ask the lady at Samsung HO who helped me out to call you.

Okay, my P7500 "Newton ring" problem is about to go away thanks to Vodacom that came to the rescue. VODACOM took my case up with Samsung despite it being a MTN contract and Samsung will replace my unit from a new batch. Thanks to Vodacom and Jannie van Zyl! How's that MTN?

I've done a factory reset on my SGS2 and manually reloaded everything (no restore from backup). Will now test the phone. If the automatic switch-off happens again the phone will be sorted out by Samsung.

I must also thank Samsung SA's MD and other staff members for the very speedy action when Vodacom approached them. Much appreciated!

Same problem with my sg2, also did a factory reset this afternoon. Please keep us informed with results.
Can't go your route with Samsung SA because I imported the device from UK.

Will let you know.

To those whose phones are switching off try updating the firmware...

I've never been anything but ecstatic with all of my Samsung equipment. Almost 80% of my devices are Samsung 2 X 24" monitors, 2x SGS's and 1 x SGS2, HD TV, Laser Printer - I've never experienced prblems with any of these. I love Samsung to the point of being probably the only Samsung Fan Boy. I've tried iPhone, had a host of Nokia's N series (built to last two years and then suddenly die) and I must say out of all manufacturers I've always been very happy with Samsung (except the Omnia -POS windows phone - gave it to my gardener just to have the thing out my life).

I anything but a Samsung fanboy but can honestly also say that I have had very few issues with any of the Samsung products I have had. The reason I buy Samsung is because Sonys are overpriced in SA and LG is on par with prices but the quality seems to be a bit worse. In terms of TVs, Panasonic is barely available here and very expensive, other than that we get very few quality brands.

- I have had 3 Samsung monitors, one 24 had an issue 3 weeks in and they didn't have stock to replace or repair so they offered me a 27" instead. The others are still going strong after 5 years and have been passed on to friends/family.
- I also had 2 Samsung TVs, one quite new, the other 4 years old and still going strong. No issues.
- Galaxy S, no issues. Galaxy Tab 10.1, no issues (luckily!). My next phone will most probably be a HTC though.
- Samsung netbook, no issues at all.
