I've had my phone 18 month and the software is nodded -and has been for 8 months ... So I don't think software the issue. I also formatted to make sure and have the same issue

Basically when on standby - like at night when sleeping - I lose 5-7% which seems ok. But the minute I use the phone it drops like you have no idea. Yesterday I put my Endomondo on for a hike and it died in 4 hrs. 100-0%!

Also from 15-0% when using it takes 10 min...

Did S3 batteries ever have an issue where they need to be replaced? I've never replaced a battery before my 2 yrs!
 
My S3 is about the same age with cyanogenmod. Battery still about the same as when it was new.
 
Hey Brawler - you've always got 5-7% loss per hour, even when new? It seems a little high because I ended up getting a new battery earlier and I'm losing between 2-3% on standby without touching the phone - so 6.5 hours later I'm sitting at 82%.

At 6.5 hours on my old battery it'd either be dead already - or very close to

PS Running the same mod
 
I have never watched in like a hawk or monitored the hourly loss as it has always been fine. Charge at night and its like at 40% by the time I charge it again the following night. Moderate use.
 
I recently bought a new battery for my S3, got the phone in august 2012. Battery never lasted from 07:00 - 17:00 with medium usage.

New battery made indeed some huge improvements. 12h 16min since last charge and its on 36% now, heavy chatting. ( got the new battery on friday, so only charged twice. So there should be room for improvement after a 3rd and 4th charge)

I am on stock Android 4.3.

Remove your batteries and check if it's not maybe a bit swollen?
 
Yea I only checked because something has been wrong for a while.

Checked my old battery and it looks fine - no bulging. But this new battery certainly is better than the original - 7 hrs and I'm on 79% and haven't even she's charge or discharge.

I was also August 2012 - I wonder if they improved the new batteries since then? Either way I'm glad that I'll have a phone when I leave the office!
 
Been looking for a S3 battery. Where did you buy it from and for how much?
 
16 hrs and 63% - this is what a smartphone should be like!

400.00 @ Samsung store in Cresta. Tried Vodashop and a few others but they don't have stock
