busy downloading a update for Samsung s3 on Vodacom sim via my adsl connection
update size 472.46mb hopefully this is the kitkat update as promised
 
That's the jellybean update, however it appears that in the USA at least for the time being a KitKat upgrade for the S3 is being rolled out, so hopefully it will be available here as well. I have the 4.3 update and one important thing that i have noticed is that the battery life has improved by around 30 to 40%.
 
Just updated to JB 4.3 I like.
Specialty the new email and it's colours. The old one with the black was difficult to see in daylight. MTN std update.
 
Doubt we ever going to get kitkat. Apparently the s3 doesn't have enough ram to cope with kitkat. Read the article on gsmarena blog
I'm still waiting for the ota update.

Samsung said the US s3 will get kitkat.
 
Update seems to have Hard Bricked my S3

I did the update, and less than 48 hours later my (non-rooted) S3 hard bricked itself.

It was on charge, and not being used at the time.

Has anybody else encountered this?

My S3 has been running 4.3 without any problems for the last few days *touch wood*
 
howszit guys

glad to see most saying its a great update
lots of ppl online /overseas have complained about battery life, lagginess and random freezing
anyone experienced this yet?

I think that those problems were sorted before this release.

I've had no problems since last Wednesday's update.

want to update my wife and my dads s3
hows the speed? is the phone faster or slower than before?
when you say wednesdays updatE? ota?
i was thinking of loading the firmware via kies? what do you think?
please check what is your build number?
