I read an article on iphone lte that did this too. It has to switch from lte back to gsm or something like that before the call comes through... like a call limbo or something.

Is your number ported by any chance. If im not mistaken the change in ringtone means it's switching from one to another network.
On LTE voice becomes like voip. It is difficult to get the voice out of LTE.
None of our networks support voice calls over LTE yet. The phones network switches back to the 3G/2G network when making and receiving calls, that's why there is a delay and it still sounds like we are talking using two cans and a string.
