My Samsung U700 has been repaired twice before - each time taking around 2-3weeks.. My phone has now been gone for I would say about 1 and a half months.. Apparently a backorder on the parts..
This is absolutely unacceptable as I know have to use an old brick of a phone.. Anyone else having problems with the U700?

I know my cousin had hers repaired 3 times already..
Horrible phone in terms of maintenance..

Heya

A family member had 3 out of the box failures of the U800... 3 in a row... and while waiting for some resolution to her troubles, 2 other clients where waiting in line, one to collect a u700 from repairs and another to hand hers in for repair... again... and were quite vocal about the crap reliability of the handset. There were also no u700's or u800's available at ANY MTN stores in JHB at the time to arrange swap-outs. Had to eventually cancel the upgrade and redo the whole thing again!

Thus, it would not surprise me if they are indeed a dud range in the Samsung portfolio. The only saving grace was the fact that all 3 handsets were found to be faulty in store by the MTN representative at the time of the upgrade being processed... otherwise it would have been a wait for repair run-around. Her last Samsung's screen kept failing and the wait between repairs was 2 months every time. Happened 3 times in the 2 years she had it.

Sigh. She now has a Samsung (surprise) beat-box... so far, no problems, 3 months old. Cross fingers and hope.

Good luck! You will need it.

Ahhh.. Samsung suppliers show no mercy!

last two times i sent mine to get repaired my u700 screen failed but this time the middle scroll button wasn't working which makes most things hard to access:(

hope i get my phone back soon i cannot stand by old phone..

Well to add some good news to this thread my wifes U700 started acting up... No sound screen started giving a negative and mirror image. Took it to the local MTN service centre and we got a brand new phone in about 10 days. I know its new because I can see that the serial number of the phone had been peeled off and stuck onto this one. They probably thought that it would be too much trouble to repair the old one.

hey guys
update:
got the phone, well actually not my old phone, a brand new one in a different colour..
i like it more than the silver, its like a metallic gray colour..
