Hi

Wanted to find out if anybody has this TV and how satisfied they are with it?

Dion Wired is selling it for R5500 and it looks like a pretty good deal.

Also, Dion's website states that it's got wireless LAN built in but from what I've seen from my research is that it's wifi ready, in other words it needs the wireless dongle. Would anybody be able to clarify this for me? I've contacted Dion but they don't seem too clued up.

For R500 more you can get the EH6030 which is a Series 6 100Hz 3D as opposed to this Series 5 50Hz TV.

So the 100 clear motion rate that they taking about does not mean 100Hz?

No, that just represents the motion interpolation/frame insertion. 100 CMR is a 50Hz TV. 200CMR would be a 100Hz TV.

Thanks for the explanation, I like my gadgets and tech but I gotta be honest, not too clued up when it comes to Tv's.

The only thing that's still swaying me in favour of the 5600 is the fact that it comes with the wifi dongle (just got an email from Dion confirming this).

I'm looking to use plex on the TV and having to fork out R500 extra for the 6030 and about R800 for the dongle, it's getting a bit expensive.
 
We're truly happy with our EH6030, for our purposes (HTPC media, Xbox and 3D Bluray).
 
If there's more than R1,000's difference in prices and you're on a tight budget, then it's a much tougher call. The ES5600 series is quite old by now and the 6-series tellies seem to be pretty decent value.

No ethernet cable at your place?
OT: Plex on the Samsung TV's is pretty decent. Nice interface.

I could probably do that, router and TV will be quite far apart though, will have to run it through the roof.

I've got some thinking to do, thanks for all the input, appreciate it.
 
Makro had the 40" Samsun ES7500 for R7999 when I was there this weeekend.
 
I have the UA40EH5300. No complaints, even the RF feed gives a decent picture. Using Plex instead of the Samsung software.
 
I have the es6200 and if I were you, I would go for the 6030. Also, Iv tried LAN cable versus WIFI, quality is much better with a cable. not that much effort running it through the roof.

You could use Samsung Allshare as well. Plex looks really good but I hate that it does not have folder structure.
