okay this is a specific problem with MXIT(www.mxit.co.za) that happened about a month ago, and it hasnt been sorted out yet, so the only place i see this being solved is here.
okay its like this, Vodacom has 2 data profiles (exluding mms) Vlive and Vodacom.gprs.
Vlive for a long time did not use sockets (polling was used) to transfer information between server and client. so mxit functioned all happy and good, but msg delivery times were slow. so vodacom finally upgraded something somewhere, and changed the profile to allow for socket connections. now msg's arent being delivered at all or connectivity is lost after a few msg's. from what i can tell all samsung users with the z500 experiance this (some sony erricson users as well), not sure about other phones.
Vodacom.gprs always allowed socket connections therefore this profile never worked with mxit.
