Sandy Bridge Upgrade

Btw, branded 23" PC LCD = +-R2,500. Complete rip, and the panel is way inferior.

Google "LCD panel types Wiki". Samsung uses S-PVA.

No, Samsung will be using TN panels in all but their high end monitors. IPS panels generally start at about R4k. I havent heard of a PVA or MVA panel being made in a few years.

For a gaming/multimedia PC, I would also recommend a screen first, and if you have money left, go for a SSD.

Slightly misleading on my part. I was referring to my recommendation - the LA32D550, which uses S-PVA, and costs ±R3,500.

Yes, all Samsung PC monitors are currently TN AFAIK. There have been a few PVA/MVA ones in the past.

I upgrade my pc on friday to 2500k and MSI P67A-GD65 mobo with 2x 4GB Vengeance memory and i'm not looking back!!!! so far I spend about R3900 just need to get the Hyper 212+ cooler and oc my 2500k to 4.5Ghz

this upgrade is all thanks to sharkbait...

if you are willing to fork out this amount of money than going with a 2500k and MSI P67A-GD65 is the best option...

@ Staunchy20 - congrats on the upgrade pal, exactly the setup I was going for...I'm jealous! Will put my specs in my sig, but can't figure out how to do that right now LOL?!?

I'm not at all up on screens right now, anyone care to elaborate on the TN/PVA/IPS state of affairs?
