Sanral ordered to pull misleading ads

YES!

We're not ****ing stupid, we were not born yesterday and we.are.not.going.to.pay.

P.S. Well done, Sinbad.

Well done Sinbad
I rate that we need to give you a Bell's

Not to be on SANRALs side but the traffic management centres cameras are watching over the roads (but not everywhere), the adverts wouldn't be talking about the gantry cameras.

But yes, the amount of people tagged as well as that 1% will reach R450 is a lie.

Good on the ASA!

They initially did not want to take on the case:

(they attached the wrong reference number :p )

Asked them what was special about SANRAL that allowed them to make unsupportable claims... they then agreed to investigate.

Another lie from SANRAL regarding waiting for some report regarding the usage. That was done months ago and it looks like the 'facts' don't support SANRAL's lies.

Based on these calculations, it was suggested that more than 10% of road users would hit their cap (as opposed to the claimed 1%) and less than 8% would pay below R100 (as opposed to 82.83%).

Hahahahahaha

In response to the complaints, Sanral “lamented” that people were believing data from other sources than itself for e-toll related information, according to ASA documents.

If this is how SANRAL responded then it just highlights their horrible attitude. They can come out and say anything and nobody can question them or ask questions of them.

Thing is they haven't produced any substantiated sources, so they can lament all they like. They were unable to produce the supporting documentation and statistics at ASA's request so one has to conclude that the numbers were made up.

if I remember right, I proved according to their figures that there were 30 million cars using the freeways in gauteng every day

Yah its just funny how they came up with the <R100 figure. i mean i checked going past 2 gauntries x2 = almost always is more. wish the lies = exemption until they make it so..

The problem with lying once is that when caught out no-one will believe whatever comes out of your mouth again. Sanral has been caught spreading untruths on more than one occasion, starting but not limited to the public participation process.
