Sanral stands by e-tag sales figures

Unfortunately there are a lot of people buying at the eToll offices. Was very angry to see queues out the SANRAL doors at Cresta.

Every rental car in South Africa has an e-tag, thats a few thousand off the bat

Wait until January..... and then in the beginning of February when people who started working start receiving bills...

Oerr! February...no money, Christmas prezzies and holidays credit spending. People are going to chop off big time.

I find it hard to believe that they have sold 890 388 e-tags so far :erm:
If one had to subtract the vehicles of transport companies ( trucks + their bakkies ) and car rental companies, obviously those who bought, that figure would be very low indeed

What about the people that are buying them to take them out of circulation? Buy and put in a drawer. Didn't they only produce 1.4M?

So Sanral, please break your "sales" for passenger vehicles down as follows:
  1. Car rental companies
  2. Government (national, provincial, local)
  3. Private

Also trucks and fleet services...

Hint: Register, don't display your eTag(leave it at home), the discounts will be passed onto you as long as the numberplate is registered. This is how we doing things at the office.
