Set works fine, except that AV1 or 2 doesn't get picture; only sound [from the DSTV or DVD].
Set was struck by lightning, and had the power supply repaired.

Your statement seemed rhetorical.

I would hazard a guess that your telly's circuit board was also fried during the storm.

You may have succeeded in repairing the PSU, but other components were probably damaged too.

Same thing with PC's sometimes your PSU will explode and depending on the PSU it will either contain the explosion or it will fry the motherboard.

I suspect the same is true in your situation.

Well, I inspected the board, and there is nothing to be seen, unless it is minute.
However, what takes me aback is that you plug a DVD [or the DSTV cables] to either of the two AV inputs and you get sound but no picture.
The set works fine via the aerial socket.
This must be a very strange and unusual fault.
What should I do next, I wonder?
I'm stuck!
[I also don't have the service diagram, on top of it.]
