Sansui windows 8" WIB802

Yep. Battery seems to be depleting while the tablet is at home also.

Just me?

I can't really comment as I'm not a power user. I normally turn the 3G off when not in use and use airplane mode for even longer periods of non use.

I tend to leave it on charge over night and manly use it lightly during the day, and on my way home with 3G to listen to Spotify and for some dumb reason the screen has to be on for music playback to work.

I downloaded drivers and not to sure how to install the touch screen drivers, it won't except the goodie driver at all?

You'll need to recover back to Windows 8.1 and do the upgrade to Windows 10 again.

Mine's touchscreen has also stopped working after the Win10 update. It didn't even give me the option of keeping all files/drivers when doing the "normal" update via windows update.

Seriously considering taking the tablet back to Hi-fi and asking for an exchange for a different tablet - maybe the Sero 8 pro - instead of going through all the effort of reverting back and upgrading again. Waste of time and money that.

So bought one of these for my son's birthday, dropped it on the driveway in about two minutes :( screen cracked and the tablet unusable sigh another R600 to fix it, now it's back to normal retail

Update:

Took the tablet back to Hi-Fi. The refunded without asking any questions. (Saw it was unusable with the touchscreen not receiving any input). Took the money, went back a week later ang got the Sero 8 Pro for a hundreds bucks more.

My experience with the Sero 8 thus far has been infinitely better than the Sansui. (And I think I might still have access to Office 360 and the Skype call minutes on my windows account. Still have to check).

Not saying all this to knock the Sansui for no reason. But I did purchase it based on what was written in this thread. In the end I am glad the touchscreen went dead and now have a better (IMHO) tablet.

I am also considering taking mine back. I bought two for my daughters as part of christmas gift so they haven't been used at all. The one I updated to windows 10 and put back into the box, the other I opened but had someone else account already loaded and requested a return (this was about 2 months ago tho and still haven't done it). I was thinking of taking them back for the Sero 8 Pro as my girls will find it alot easier to use.

Do you think I will have any complications taking them back to swap for the other tab? Don't mind paying the extra if there is.

Let us know if you're successful in exchanging it for the Sero 8, I've only used my WIB802 for a few hours (Upgrading to windows 10 -.-) because the touch screen is extremely frustrating to use in terms of precision :(

I do agree here.
Touch screen is more hit and miss than anything else.

Used my tab for 10 hours total all together.
Considering selling it since it doesn't get much, if any use.

OK so I took the tablets back and HiFi refunded me. The price of R1399 for the Sero 8 is only available online - in store it is R1999 so had to get a refund and order online again.

Before I do, is that the best value for money tablet in that price range? The tablets will be used by my 2 daughters (10 and 8) and mostly used for games and media. I like it has a "retina" screen and enough ram. Is this the best tablet for the price range? Don't want to spend more than R1500.

Windows 10 update worked, but touch screen does not worked. Tried the drivers listed here, but does nothing. I did made a restore drive on 8.1. Actually does not matter as I have two other units also for the family from which I can clone the drives.

JUST BTW Windows 10 has the option to "revert back to Windows 8.1". Just search for it in the finder / search. I did revert back to 8.1, but it does not have the recovery partition anymore, which is actually "not bad", because now I have more free space +- 2GB-3GB from 500mb free before I upgraded to Windows 10. Note I have about 2.6gb apps installed. So in total it should be around 5gb free after updates. Everything works fine as before. Will try to do a factory restore from the recover drive I made to get a clean install and then try again to perform a upgrade to 10 and see if it works.

Extra...
When I read through all the post and from what I experienced it looks almost if there is pattern with the upgrades. For example the touch screen work for some and not for others. I think it has to do with one of the automatic updates before the upgrade to windows 10. It could be a driver or something that is updated that does not play well with Windows 10. I waited a week before upgrade to Windows 10 and it was not a strait upgrade from the restored version. I also notice that "all" drivers was installed in Windows 10, but there where many duplicates.

Did a restore this morning with the OTG cable + USB power hub. Restore went butter smooth. Going to see if I can upgrade to Windows 10 again, but I needed to create another account as I could not remember my previous account :wtf:

Called Sansui SA and they also said backup the drivers and re-use them in Windows 10, but I did tried that on my first attempt. I think I should boot into safe mode and uninstall the drivers there and then reinstall it and see if it helps.

Is there a faster way to get the Windows 10 upgrade request from MS than to wait for them to send if you click on the window icon in the task bar?

There isn't a Sansui SA it's a distributor called Stylco in Midrand. I've had to send my tablet there to get the glass fixed

hi guys,

has anyone tried emulating android on this, with let's say bluestacks, genymotion or andyos?
if this thing can run any of those fluently I would say it's even more of a steal tha it already is, and if someone can get it to dual boot with android x86 that would just be spectaculair
