Early in November the Grinch (or was it Trevor :) ) stole my Whoooosh but earlier this week Santa brought it (or at least most of it) back.

In October I was connecting to tower 10761 with a signal strength of -61dBm and I was getting download speeds of up to 10+Mb/s but never less than 4Mb/s. In November the dashboard stopped reporting connection type as UMTS and, occasionally, HSPA and started reporting only HSPA+ so something changed on the network. At the same time, or perhaps soon after, I found I was no longer connecting through tower 10761. Moving the modem around (it's on an extension and hangs in the window) saw the connection going through various towers with the signal strength varying between the mid to low eighties. Connection speed dropped to a maximum of 2Mb/s but more normally to less (sometimes substantially less) than 1Mb/s. Definitely not my idea of "Whoooosh". :)

Armando (Cell_C in the forum) took an interest and escalated the problem. On Monday I found that I was once again connecting to tower 10761 and the signal strength is -61dBm. Maximum download speed has been just over 7Mb/s and the lowest I've seen is 3Mb/s. Perhaps this is only Whoosh, not Whoooosh, but I can live with it.

Thank you Armando. Now I can wish you, all at CellC and all the forumites compliments of the Season rather than complaints of the season.
