Hi all

I'm planning to sign up (in process) for the Simply Uncapped service as per the special they're running.

Anyone one on of their other ADSL services and what is your experience with it?

Thanks :D

They service seems solid enough. Also 384k Uncapped service at R499 including adsl rental seems a good offer. I would like to know if offer access to local news servers and also if running this account on a 4mb line, would you only get 384k???

Almost certainly only going to get 384k for R500 :D

Please find out about news servers etc and let us know? I'm also keen for this in the new year (which is how long it'll take hellkom to move my frikken line )

UNCAPPED! Whoo hoo!

Just got off the phone with them.

Going through the migration process and checking my banking details (well R500 a month I certainly can afford). They already sent my username and other admin details.

As soon as it's up and running I'll give feedback.

Uncapped FTW :D

You won't have access to local news servers unfortunately. I've migrated to the uncapped option, speeds are good and connection has been stable for the last 3 days.

You won't really need a local news server though, seeing that the uncapped is for international access, you can get basically anything from international sites.

Thank you for the heads up!

True, almost all you need is available from international sites :D

I've been with them from Friday. Filled the app @13:00 was browsing by 16:00.

It is not shaped so when downloading you can not browse-or browse very slowly- as it allocate all the speed to the download(I'm no techie so that is only my opinion).

I have found that downloading on my desktop and browsing and getting mail on my laptop works like a charm.

For my own selfish reasons I would say they suck-too many subscribers may affect my speed- but, I can't fault them anywhere.

My line hasn't been off once and the download speed is between 28-39 all the time.
