Special Features/Information

Vortex-WoW is a free private World of Warcraft server. We are a totally Mid-rate Blizzlike PvP server , supporting 3.3.5.a. We have no extra added NPCs, quests, malls or gear. All quests, drops, gold and experience rates are set to x6. All Battlegrounds are working. Vortex-WoW was founded by a few WoW players and is run, maintained and all decisions are made by staff. Vortex-WoW has an active community, game masters and administrators. All our game masters play the game the normal way and don't use any GM powers for personal benefit. We are always open to new suggestions and advice you players have.We try to maintain the server to the best of our abilities, carefully and with dedication. Updates are usually scheduled over weekends with minimum downtime. We never suffered any wipe of any kind and we keep your data and privacy safe! We offer support in any way possible

Server Specifications

Server is located in Europe and is privately run. Game server and web server run dislocated (apart) from each other.

Backups and updates

We are performing 12 hour backups (complete char and realm database), daily DAT and dislocated backups. Updates are done once a week, preferably over weekends in the morning when there are not many players online. We never had more than 2 hours downtime and never had any wipes & No Rollbacks!

Server-side legalities aside...

I have never played on a PvT server, but humour me...

If you pay for the WoW disks and pay monthly subs for the use of their servers, updates and support, are you not free to make use of any servers you wish to use? i.e. if you pay for the client and then decide to use private servers then it should be your choice.

I know you sign an agreement with bliz only to use their servers etc, but from an ethical P.O.V. are private servers not tolerated - granted they do not charge for teh use of their servers?
 
Is R150 a month really too much to ask from you guys? You obviously have no idea what you're missing out on. I don't know how many people play on this particular server but it can't be enough to enjoy everything the game has to offer. How many of you are there in Wintergrasp? Five on each side? 25 man raids? What happens when the owners of this server decide that they can't or don't want to run it any more - what happens to all your characters and hard work? What happens when you're doing the Lich Ling fight but can't manage it - do you just keep nerfing him until you can? :D

even if that freebie is sub-par, buggy, out dated, not officaly supported, easy, not rewarding, ceats enabled, low player base and just plain jucky
but Fuskit its free

Actually, R91-97 p/m if you buy game cards from eg. offgamers.com or change your country of residence to UK and pay in GBP instead of Euros.
Considering all the bugs, quest issues, balance issues and that once again they lost all their chars and characters as yet another server went down...
It's just baffling why people keep playing on these emulation servers.
 
Emulated servers projects are a "fun" development project. Speaking for myself, it allowed me implement some rpg ideas I've had while focusing on I'm famliar with: writing code.
*HOWEVER* The gameplay experience between the live servers and emulated server there is no contest. Being a MMO, a social game, it gets pretty lonely on the emulated servers at times.

I like that even at 1 AM when I'm sitting wide awake for no good reason, I can find other people to smash faces with/againest.

Barring all of this, why hosted in Europe? If anything the strong point of a emulated server is a shorter distance between you and the server.
 
Those same people that claim to not be able to afford it probably spend hundreds on booze/cigs etc a month...
 
couple of days ago i reported www.sawow.co.za to blizzard entertainment. Received a beautiful reply back from them thanking me for my help and they explained to me that they would be forwarding my email to some other department immediately to sort things out. Ill now be reporting this site to them. Its completely illegal and you should be disgusted with your self. Blizz deserves every single cent!

Update: I have reported the site and thank god its in europe :) makes things easier for them to shut down!

I wonder how do they deserve the cent, if the players on my server dont even got the money to pay them.. Explain?

Shirou all emulation and client software is intellectual property of Blizzard Entertainment. They own the copyright to all likeness, logos and such. So yes, your "clients" should either be playing official or just not playing at all. Period.

and buddy i can rage all i want its a ILLEGAL! server.
Your account on my broadband forums should actually be banned as you are publically advertising your illegal server and unless your in china where piracy is legal then you shouldnt be writing on my bb.

vermillon your judgement is clouded and just some word of truth blizz doesint care, your complaint means nothing. Infact blizz sees this as advertising rather then a threat. if you think your so lets say the angel here, go have a look at www.wowstatus.net. theres a whole list you can report.
