The South African Revenue Service announced on Thursday morning that it had closed 11 of its branches as a result of strike action.

In a tweet from its official account, it said the branches were:

* Port Elizabeth
* Randburg
* Randfontein
* Richards Bay
* Rissik Street
* Roodepoort
* Sibasa
* Soweto Orlando East
* Uitenhage
* Vereeniging
* Witbank-Emalahleni

It also said earlier that its contact centre might take longer to answer calls.

Additionally SARS has said that any outstanding debt queries and deferred arrangements requests be sent to the following email addresses in lieu of the strike.

Now if only they will realise how worthless they are end off themselves - what a wonderful world.

Its like Home affairs shutting down. Nobody will notice.
Why do you say that - any personal experience? IMO, SARS is probably the most efficient government institution - no doubt it is because they need to collect money - I have always had good experience with SARS call centre and once in Randburg branch.

Sitting in the queue at SARS this week was good training for the zombie apocalypse
