Hey guys...so an auditor phoned me today and says I have to submit a 3 year bank statement to prove that I pay for my parents medical aid.. phoned standard bank and they told me its R50 per month that's equivalent to R1800!!! does anyone know how much it is to get a 3 year bankstatement at the actual branch?

I think they ****ed something up quite royally.
Personally, I would just tell SARS to remove those dependents from my claim and move on with life.

You can't go back on it as it would be seen as a fraudulent claim then. Just get the documents and the next few years it should be no issue. If they need it you just have to do the last year passed. Sucks but at least it will be on their system now and you won't have to worry about it going forward.

Auditor thinks that this is a easy win.This is the very reason why I keep all my statements for 5 years.

no its 2013,2014 and 2015...is there no way to get a hold of the auditors?

Nope, not that I'm aware of.
That is what they require so you'll have to submit it I'm afraid.
I phoned a sars consultant she suggested that I try and give them an affidavit first and see if they will accept it

Good luck. I hope you come right. I personally would have just gotten what they asked and know it's sorted going forward. But that charge from the bank though... yoh.

Can't the medical aid provide proof that you are paying the medical?

R50 per month??? You're getting royally screwed. Can't you print emailed statements and get them stamped at the branch?
I got audited. They told me I owe them R23k...for 6 months work and my pension paying out (which got taxed before paying me out anyway AND was paid into a preservation fund)
I filed 2 disputes. Both declined. Tried again but their screwed up flash interface won't allow any further disputes. So I paid. Cnuts.
check that the administrator of the pension fund applied correctly for the tax directive. on the tax directive application it should indicate that you are transferring the money. phone the administrators and ask them for a copy of it.
