SARS E-Filing 2015

http://www.sars.gov.za/TaxTypes/PIT/Tax-Season/Pages/default.aspx

TAX SEASON 2015 FOR INDIVIDUALS1 July 2015 was the start of the 2015 Tax Season for Individuals.

See the changes from 14 September 2015.

During Tax Season, you need to submit an ITR12 (which is your Income Tax Return) so we can calculate your tax on your income and the tax-deductible expenses for the assessment year (1 March 2014 - 28 February 2015), which may, in some cases, result in a refund.

The Tax Season runs from July to November every year. For provisional taxpayers who submit via eFiling, it runs until January of the next year.

The important dates are:
•30 September 2015 - Manual/postal submissions
•27 November 2015 - At a SARS branch (non-provisional)
•27 November 2015 - eFiling (non-provisional)
•29 January 2016 - Provisional taxpayers via eFiling

Seems like I'll have go into a branch to file my taxes.
Does anyone know what I'll need and when the deadline is?

Just received my letter after the audit. No adjustment. Great. I could've told them that a month ago

Thanks Geezer. Seems like I still have time but will get to it in the next couple of weeks.

Can someone please give some positive feedback re refund after audit? Anybody got their refund after the first 30 day audit?

Thanks! Really hope so! Quite a substantial amount that needs to be refunded. (Thus probably the audit) Was just wondering, as all I see is how long SARS take to pay-out the refunds, after being selected for audit. Phoned them twice just to make sure that they don't need anymore supporting documents. (submitted 11 September). Told me that they can't see that there is anything outstanding on their system and to expect the money in my account 30 days after - which will be 26 Oct.
Holding Thumbs!! Positive Thinking!! Nothing is impossible! - even for SARS.

Anyone know if it's possible to get an audit report from SARS?

My return was submitted for Audit and they conveniently changed amounts so that my refund got cancelled out - and the call center agent I spoke to was unable to tell me why...

There should be a second assessment on your profile. The first assessment is done indicating an audit. If the audit requirements are not met, a second assessment is done that reverses the effect of the first audit. This second audit will show what was changed from the first one.

You can lodge a notice of objection to the second assessment and if that fails you can lodge a further appeal.

Morning

Just a question hope u guys can help.

Background: 2 years ago I took my dad to SARS to file a tax return because he never did this due to being below the income threshold. The guy there said there were penalties on his account amounting to almost R60 000.00 and that he needs to get his medical tax certificates and IRP5s from 2006 to 2013 and come file them all at once.

We did this and we disputed the penalties and at the end they reduced the penalties to a R500.00 fine. He got a couple of thousand back from all the assessments and we paid the R500.00.

Last Friday we went again for this years filing and the lady gave him a report stating he needs to get his documents and submit them from 1991 up to 2003. She said his account reflects R0 outstanding and no penalties, but that they are now on a new system that is asking for all these years documents to be submitted. I spoke to the lady and she said she THINKS it is only to update the system and if he can not get hold of the documents, he should get a affidavit stating that he can not get hold of all these documents.

He retired March 2015 and he is really worried about this now.

Can you please help me out with this or shed some light?

Appreciated

Login into efiling and request the outstanding tax returns and submit them online. No need to go into SARS.

Got mine from SARS..

Submitted 2015/11/05
Statement of Account: Assessed Tax Date: 2015/11/25

And it is a -R Value... so it seems they owe me some.. :D

Has the deadline been extended? As far as I know its 27 November, but on efiling next to my return type it says Due Date 30/11/2015.

So apparently I owe SARS money, from way back in 2011 I was employed through a employment agency and they were not taxing me my salary enough, so now I need t pay back the difference, submitted for audit and it's been two weeks,

Question do I just pay the amount and get it over with ? I have made an arrangement to pay monthly over the next 6 months.

However I am still receiving sms messages that this is a final demand please pay SARS or I will be handed over. I call SARS and apparently I will still receive message s until he amount is paid up, and I will not be handed over.

What would be your advice ?
