SARS E-Filing 2019 OPEN!

I had the same issue. I left it and emailed the docs to the email address on the notice.

Also make sure you convert your logbook to PDF beforehand if it's in excel. SARS system cuts the PDF off, and if your logbook is to wide it will display the right side underneath and make no sense to whoever is looking at it.
Did you get confirmation that the updated Logbook was received by SARS

Day 3 for me, pulled a new SoA this morning, no changes. Just from reading some of the other comments, i get the feeling my verification should be completed by tomorrow or Monday. With payment expected by the end of next week.

So I had a Special stopper --- filled on the 27th and saw this had to go into the branch which I did to update my banking details ----Patiently waiting for them to remove the special stopper so that my money can be paid out --- phoned them to day and they said it takes time to remove ***But the team leader will see if she can get someone to do it --- not that I believe the agent LOL1562241018721.png

To be honest, stoppers are normally a nightmare. The fact that your assessment is complete this early in July and payment only pending removal of stopper is a great achievement. I'm pretty sure you'll be sorted sometime next week

Guys.
Am I supposed to get something back purely based on medical contributions, if I didnt have any out of pocket medical expenses, or am I just a little confused ?

My SOA shows a payment date of 2020-01-31. Is that a default date or what? I generally get my refund within 7 days or so.

Yep... default. Will change once assessment finalized

I submitted my return on 3 July. On the app and website it says "Filed", but I have not received any sms or email. Are you supposed to receive an sms or email to confirm SARS has received / is processing the tax return?

That was only yesterday but by now you should have received a SMS or email from them stating that your return has been filled and is awaiting assessment. Were you asked to upload supporting docs? and have you checked your SoA?

Hi Gents

Can someone please provide clarity on this. I submitted my tax return on Monday. I had two IRP5's, same employer. One IRP5 shows period employed as 2018 March 1 till 2018 September 2018, the other one as 2018 October 1 till 28 February 2019. I compared the SARS prepopulated values against the two IRP5's and they seem to inline.

Now, this morning I come to the office and open my emails. Our HR lady sent us an email informing us that our IRP5's have not been submitted to SARS as yet, how is this possible?

I am still waiting for her to advise on further action.
Your HR messed up.

Depends if the medical aid contribution is done through the company or privately.

If through the company, they would have factored it in already and you won't get anything back.

If you take out your own medical, you should get something back...

I have not been asked to upload any supporting documents. I have not received any correspondence from SARS since submitting. The SoA shows all zeros.

Kind of strange, it is possible that your return is completely reconciled to R0.00 meaning you nothing and nothing is due to you. i would be interested to know what your tax calculation says.

Also, please note that if you are due a refund but your SoA states R0.00, this means your refund will be paid the following day. Were you due a refund when you did the calc?

There was a refund due to me on the calculation. I will wait until tomorrow and then take it up with SARS.

It's just that I have always used a tax practitioner but every year he has gotten more expensive (more than the SARS refunds) so I have decided to do the returns on my own from now on.
Thanks Glads81.

You should try TaxTim (and no, I don't work or am affiliated to them)

Thanks for clearing that up for me, Mike.
