SARS eFiling 2023/2024

Just to be clear, are they disallowing the actual medical aid contributions you've made for your policy, or are they disallowing medical expenses you've claimed that were not covered by your medical aid?
they disallowed my medical aid contributions, they have been removed from the new IT34, the one i did showed they owed me 11,600 the new one shows i owe them the exact same amount which equates to 0

Lodge a Notice of Objection.

Ensure payments come from your bank statement (in your name).

Send SARS the 12 extracts of the medical aid contribution debit order on your bank statements, medical aid certificate and a well written objection.

Once submitted - wait 60 business days (You need to manually check whether or not SARS issues correspendence). So check eFiling on a weekly basis.

Code 4005 must be restated to the actual value of contributions.
guess will have to do that, the 60 days is a killer

You should submit a "Request for Reasons" first in order to understand the underlying reason for SARS's assessment so you can formulate a proper notice of objection. You only get one shot at submitting a notice of objection and if you don't know why they disallowed the contributions in the first place then you risk having your notice of objection disallowed.

Or just phone them instead of waiting another 21 business days for an answer on a request that won't be answered within 21 working days.

For the first time in my life I had to give SARS money after submitting a return. I just couldn't work out a legit way around it. My lovely payout last year has been wiped out by this year. SAD!

Done, got my notice of assessment. I've been selected for audit unfortunately.... Assume its due to the Solar claim.
So still waiting for the "letter with further instructions" to be issued. Hoping the Solar rebate is worth the hassle of being audited.

Need to upload docs and do a telephone appointment but there are ZERO slots available.

Lol

Hmm.. Interesting. I log in to request my 2024 assessment and get greeted with this

I submitted last year, got my ITA34 and they even paid me out, so totally confused now.

Question on the solar tax, should this show in the calculated results before you submit? I have added mine in but the only deduction showing is my RA.

I'm confused, this is the first time I'm doing my own eFilling, So it says they owe me -R6000 but on this page it says no refund due.

So I just put in the total amount for the panels (ex VAT - not sure if this was correct or not). On my Notice of Assessment it calculated the rebate:

Yes ... so your balance is R6k owed to you. So wait until 1 Aug 2024 for payment ;)
ok awesome, so if I don't see any red comments I'm good and not being audited.

I normally had a person do my eFilling, but they passed away during covid. I was then autoassessed the last two times.

So yeah this was the first year I said it can't be that difficult to do, and did it myself.

On the SOA (statement of account, the audit flag is seen).

Sars aint alot of work. Been doing it myself for a while. I know I am getting audited every year.

Currently in dispute with FNB (to tell me how in heavens name did they calculate interest for bonded properties). For the first year in 14 years. They are out with R15 000. Logged a query on 24 June, still zero reply. I cant really submit until that is cleared up. Trust me, if Sars see R1 out they will ask endless questions (especially with rentals).
