SARS eFiling 2023/2024

Finally figured it all out, there were excess funds left in my employers pension fund after a swop from Sanlam to Old Mutual and because I was a member of the fund at the time of the swap I and others got paid out a small sum in to our then current pension funds.

ITR12 submitted, ITA34 issued, doesn't look like I have been selected for audit or verification but I never trust SARS to not come back with something.

my SOA says R -XXXX.xx
Refund status: No Refund Due

I filed on the 18th, is this normal?

EDIT: where is the "you can refer to the refund dashboard status for a reason for non-payment of the refund" link?
update: the funds owed to me was paid this morning. let's hope they don't reverse it...

I have been selected for audit, how long does this process take.

I have uploaded all docs as requested

this was done within 2 days for me, but now I am waiting for bank verification to be completed.

Has anyone used Timtax calculation estimate and received the same amount? I did an estimate but the different was huge, and nowhere near what they said I would receive.

Any comments?

What calculation? Inside taxtim or one of the public ones?

Verification on -R2900, still awaiting for it to be assigned to an agent. Return submitted on the day e-filing opened and supporting docs attached same day. So we now wait patiently for someone to at least look at it.

Please can someone help...i dont know wtf im doing.

My investments IT3(c) have codes 4250 and 4251 (Capital Gains), but my return has nowhere to enter these, so i assume it's this question i should say yes...but i cant enter more than 10 and my IT3(c) is showing values of 1000's

Ok. The screenshot you share mean, the number of investments. If you say 2… down 2 investments would be added, and you enter loss or profit at that stage

I want to do my Tax, but employer says IRP5 not ready yet :cautious:
Either they are lying or they are very slack and in trouble with SARS.

Employee Annual Reconciliation is required to be submitted no later than end May otherwise penalties and interest will be levied.

Just got an email to say my case has been allocated to official

1. 15th - Submitted Audited
2. 17th - link came available to submit documents
3. 24th - Allocated to Official 8:59 am
4. 24th - finalized without changes - 10 49am

So Sars calculation result says I owe them a huge amount. I was an independent contractor for the period being 11 months and the contracting house said they received a directive for 3616 at 25% tax, none of which i was in control of. Now it seems they're taxing me at 35%. My IRP5 shows the tax code 3616.

Submitted last Thursday with travel allowance, logbook, tfsa and other investment cgt/interest. No audit and paid out on Monday. Yay for SARS this year.

So I am clueless, but is that a flat 25%?
If so, and you are taxed as per the table below, it should mean that you will only get a refund if you are under 237100 and from there it starts to erode as the income increases?
1 – 237 100 18% of taxable income
237 101 – 370 50042 678 + 26% of taxable income above 237 100
370 501 – 512 80077 362 + 31% of taxable income above 370 500
512 801 – 673 000121 475 + 36% of taxable income above 512 800
673 001 – 857 900179 147 + 39% of taxable income above 673 000
