SARS eFiling 2023/2024

Why would you need to go to SARS in person?

To get an Application for Payment certificate. It can only be done in person (apparently)

After speaking to 5 different people at SARS over the past few months, I realise that very few of the call centre operators know what is going on

4 people told me to apply via email and send the documents required. Apart from an auto-response, there was no reply. This has been on the go since February
 
I can get an online meeting for middle next week. I have submitted docs via e-filing. Waiting 21 working days is such a pain.

Do the appointment as well. Especially if it's as soon as next week. The agent may be able to identify issues, if any, with your documents.

Unable to make an online appointment. I get an error when selecting the date and time.

Last night I received the banking details verification letter from SARS. They will try to verify my details within 21 working days.
 
Has anyone used the Refunds Dashboard to check the process?
Checked mine this morning, and it indicates that my refund was paid out to me, however mine was also reversed on the 19/07. I bank with Standard as well like some others have mentioned here.
 
Rechecked my details on efiling and all correct and show’s verified and compliant.

Wonder if the Crowdstrike incident affected Standard Bank as well.
Same my side. Not sure what to do next to be honest, as I sure as hell do not want to have to go in to one of the branches. Tried the chatbot which was useless.

I don't think you need to do anything. Just be patient. I've seen it happen plenty of times where refunds are reversed and then un-reversed again without having to do anything.
 
Interesting I see standard bank customers.

Can those who have had it reversed give Bank names? Keen to see.
Mine was reversed Friday, Standard bank as well.
Called SARS they said I had 2 listed bank accounts on my profile so that is "possibly" what reversed it, despite me confirming on my submission the same account I had used for my whole life. I've never used any other account

Fun fact: I went into my profile and my bank account number is listed twice, the only issue that one version says savings account, and the other says cheque account number, but these days with EFT's you don't need to differentiate that when you pay someone as far as I know as long as the account number is correct.

Same here, Dashboard says paid, But SOA says reversed and no funds. Stand bank here.
 
You should submit a "Request for Reasons" first in order to understand the underlying reason for SARS's assessment so you can formulate a proper notice of objection. You only get one shot at submitting a notice of objection and if you don't know why they disallowed the contributions in the first place then you risk having your notice of objection disallowed.
thanks for the advice on the request for reason which i wasn't aware of, would have gone straight to notice of objection, submitted the request for reason last week and today my ITA34 was corrected and my medical aid tax credits were reinstated, hopefully will be paid soon

Refund status: No Refund Due

I filed on the 18th, is this normal?

EDIT: where is the "you can refer to the refund dashboard status for a reason for non-payment of the refund" link?
