SARS eFiling 2023/2024

Quote for panels or invoices? I think an invoice or proof of payment to show actual purchase date will be required also.
Organizing POP now. My father lent me the money, but he's out of the country atm. Going to have to explain this to them somehow. I'll write a letter/affidavit and upload that too

Has anyone had a previous employer blame auditors for forgetting to upload (or complete) an IRP5?

Assuming they continue to "forget", what is the best action here? 11 of 12 months of the tax year, so bit chuck missing.

Ouch I hope your father transferred to you and you made the payment either via eft from your bank account or using your bank card. I doubt very much sars will buy any explanation for payment not made by you. Did you consider having your Dad claim it or the house is in your name ? I am not a tax professional or anything but you might struggle if the payment is not literally from you.

Did you not get an invoice? Quote and POP are unlikely to work. SARS likes Tax invoices. Preferably with VAT on 'em too.

Today, it seems my Official processed my file to ask for further home office depreciation documentation i.e. a letter from my employer indicating I was required to buy this for work purposes.

I've asked my HR, although they might tell me to f**** off in which case my power station will never facilitate their work. This TaxTim example of said letter is not asking for much
The employer has informed me to f right off; I had to approach them before buying, which is ironic on many levels. Alas, I edited my Return and removed the depreciation. I was requested to submit the files already on record again (less this letter). I did so. Now the wait. It should be Accepted without Changes now. Stand to get even less. Meh.

There may be a simple solution to this retirement fund nightmare as it seems SARS didn't receive the recon from the admins.

The okes that are struggling to submit, I can help you fix this with the following info:

- IRP5 issued by fund admin
- Directive issued

@geezer, that includes you.

@Neuk_ , I suspect I can sort you out too.

@Kosmik , are you also in this boat?
Will you still be able to assist me? I am not getting much help from the Pension Fund administrators. I have both the IRP5 as issued by the fund admin, as well as the directive issued in a PDF format.

Sure. No problem.

Ya this ^

I just went through it. Portion of the eft came from my account and portion for SO's account.

SARS only rebated me a % based on the payment from my account.

They will not approve the rebate if the payment is not from the assessed's account.

Hi all, Has anyone with the refund Reversal issue been resolved, and paid out as yet?

Part of my refund was reversed and I was asked for a bunch of documents. Submitted these over a week ago and no news. I assume that is what you mean by reversal issues. I am sure they are combing through the bank statement so figure a way to not pay me.

To be fair to SARS this is consistent with how they work. Even health payments are only refunded when the actual tax payer can proof they paid it out of their account. I recall I got some support for the installation from family but made sure the panels specifically were paid by me from my bank card and invoiced separately. Taxman is brutal! Learned this ten hard way with tons of medical payments.

In my case, my portion could've theoretically have been considered the solar panels (since it exceeded the actual cost of the panels) but they wanted the full invoice (inverter, panels battery etc etc) with proof of payment for the full invoice.

It is here where they decided to apportion it.

Either way, not fussed who of us gets the rebate or parts of it in this case, as long as we get the full rebate.

Does anyone know how long it takes for at the refund to be released after a verification is done? SARS checked my stuff last Friday, made a change and closed the case. Refund status: Ready to be Paid. Do they wait the full 21 business days?

Check your Statement of Account. Refund date should be stated on there.
