Sars is in shambles

The South African Revenue Service, once one of the nation’s most effective institutions, is in dire straits after more than four years of shambolic management by commissioner Tom Moyane, evidence presented to a judicial commission of inquiry shows.

I am confused, just after that they SAID its not the case, and it was repeated many times.

Who is the they? Can't trust Tom Moyane and his stooges, so no need to be confused if they said it. Both sides (commission and SARS) said in the past 2 days that e-filing not on brink of collapse, if that is what you are talking about.

That IT lady smokes her socks

It was established last year already that SARS is in shambles. Isn't it one of the reasons Tom Moyane was suspended? It was also implied in press statement released after his suspension. Anyone believing otherwise is deluded in my opinion.

She must be doing something more hardcore than just smoking things, comes across as decidedly brain damaged in interviews.

Maybe that 3mil salary got her into a cocaine habit and she snorted a bad batch or two. I mean W-T-F, we all know of incompetent managers, but this one is VERY special.

Explains why i have been waiting over a month for my return.

Well we were told so in 1998:

"Transformation of the state entails, first and foremost, extending the power of the National Liberation Movement over all levers of power: the army, the police, the bureaucracy, intelligence structures, the judiciary, parastatals, and agencies such as regulatory bodies, the public broadcaster, the central bank and so on.” Umrabulo, June/August 1998

This is newsworthy? SARS a SOE for heaven sake. There isn't a single SOE in the country that isn't in an utter and total shambolic state.

eh?

^ this

I'm not aware of any country where the revenue service is a private entity, doesn't make any sense. SARS is a government department, not a SOE. Just like the IRS in america or the HMRC in the UK.
