SARS has released the mobile app for its eFiling service on the Google Play store. more

My feeling is that this is a very clever move from SARS. All the geeky types are going to download this app to see what it does and then end up submitting their tax!

Not a very good start:

The application is not correctly embedded (wrong wmode value)

For a 30MB download, that's pretty poor form...

And seeing that I only use SARS efiling once a year, I'd rather use my pc to do the filing & leave the app in the Play Store.

I was looking for an alternative because of the SARS reliance on adobe rubbish which doesn't work that well with Linux.

The devs managed to find my email address after my 1* on g.play, and one thing that horrified me was that the apps are air based, so they are sticking to adobe products. I suppose it does make portability easier, but...
