I am open to correction but I don't recall a storm of complaints from the ANCWL about ukuthwala which is simply part of their sacrosanct culture but, all over the civilized world, is seen as kidnapping and rape.

Actually they have called for its abolition,

The ANC Women’s League is calling for a party election manifesto with more women-orientated pillars, its president Angie Motshekga has said.

“Our fundamental demand is that South Africa must be safe for women everywhere and at all times,” she told reporters today in Johannesburg.

“Cultural practices and traditions that promote the violation of women’s rights must be abolished and these include, among others, ukuthwala, ukungena, and virginity testing.”
