SA's best cheap 4K TVs

The prices of 4K TVs have plummeted in South Africa, with some 2160p displays now coming in below the R6,000 mark.

the 2 Hisense link to the same tv

Are these actually 4k or are they like the 1080p panels we saw a few years ago that were actually 720p and faked 1080p input?

But how is the software for these? I doubt that the OS will be useful 1-2 years down the line. The first Samsung Smart TV's got kinda left out when Samsung decided to roll with Tizen. LG started off with the WebOS flavour back in 2014? My LG smart TV is two years old, but still gets updates, still fast. The only problem I have, is the Showmax app (randomly crashes). Netflix and YT still works well.

You buy an external box and use that instead

Spot on, but UHD and 4K is a teeny bit different on the width
UHD is 3840 x 2160
4K is 4096 x 2160
Technically if you're looking at the professional side, but from the consumer side, they are basically the same.

Yup, it's only 256 pixels width difference
But the main thing is the 2160 vertical resolution.

Jissus and to think DVD is 720x576 here in South Africa, PAL
Worse in the states, I think the vertical is 480
That must look kak nowadays on our big screen flat tellys
