SA's best office chairs

South Africans shopping for high-quality office chairs to sit in for at least eight hours with minimal discomfort have several options available.

R28k for an Aeron? Nuts.
I'll sell mine that I still have there for R15k. Relative bargain.

Got the first one in the list - Had it for 8 years now - got the entire gas piston replaced at 4 years and 9 months - no issues at all.

All honestly totally crap and the Herman miller is uncomfortable

We went for the Geocloud Step Ahead with headrest which was about R3k a chair. Had 3 staff with bad backs. Got them all the chairs and Hermann Miller and the Geocloud Step Ahead was the favourite. Really great chair.

The Geocloud couches also really great.

https://www.geocloud.co.za/products...s-geocloud/step-ahead/step-ahead-chair-2.html. You can also get it without the headrest or fit the headrest afterwards.

And the back up support is really very very good.

I bought the step ups from geocloud without the headrests for my kids. They love them too.

I am sitting in a 12 year old Herman Muller embody chair we bought second hand for R15k.

It's saved me money compared to the new R4-5K chair I would normally have bought every 3-4 years normally

3 years so far and I absolutely love my Merryfair Wau (fabric cushion), was really fortunate to get it at R5,500 at the time. Nothing clicking, causing excess friction or broken off yet as I heard from some reviewers at the time.

What really turned me off to Herman Miller at the time was most lacked a dedicated head rest, and I like to recline while resting.

Gaming chairs seem mostly worthless for the money, but are Herman Millar chairs good or just overpriced? They seem to be the Apple/Tesla of chairs...

This is the chair type that I have had for almost 15 years.
It's nice and bouncy and soothes my need to twitch my legs, swing my feet, and constantly shift into all kinds of different sitting positions.
I have a poofy conti pillow which folds over the front and supports the back of my knees.
It's comfy as hell and I can sit on it for hours, and even lie back and sleep.
Price back then? R150
New these days? Around R1200
Who needs fancy? My fart filled classic is all I need :)

I don't know what brand my chair is or how much it cost. The guy in charge of chairs just showed up at my office one day and gave it to me and took away the old one.

Picked up my SAYL 13yrs ago and it’s still going strong. Would have got the Aeron at the time which was cheaper, but no stock and I was in pain from lousy plywood chair. Then when all office was stopping doing Herman Miller chairs, got another SAYL for the mrs for 4k last year that was a refurb. It was that or their local chairs for the same price. These chairs are amazing.
