SA's Top Schools

Not sure why they don't include private schools  Seems a little silly to be honest.

The difference between private and public schools

By law, public education facilities must admit and educate all children. Besides registering your student at your area's assigned public school, there is nothing more that needs to be done when enrolling besides making sure that your child is ready to go when the bus arrives(okay so the article's american... same principles apply). This does not hold true with private schools. Admission to a private school is entirely up to the school's own judgment and no one else's. Some prestigious private schools are difficult to get into and have a high level of competition at the admissions level.

You could say that public shools do interviews and do deny entrance but I know there are a lotta questionable people in our school and the school has to grant them permission (our principle said so himself).

Westerford's academics are good but I think they're better known for their music... or the availibilty of DRUGS (not a hater, my friend that goes to that school told me that during his first year there so many people offer you stuff and that they refer to their own school as the chemist)

I don't know how true that is in the SA context. A lot of the former model C schools are quite selective.
