SA's welfare system warning

One subtle but key point is the emphasis on "ramaphosa" anc, implying an anc under a different banner would do better, like a zuma anc or an ace anc.
An ANC under Zuma could have probably managed getting over 50% even if they performed poorly in terms of getting majorities where it matters, that's the problem with the ANC and the KZN support.

It certainly looks like pro-zuma supporters either stayed away or voted IFP (or EFF ?). I very much doubt if these voters would vote for any other parties tbh. Just personal opinion of course but can't confirm as I don't have any friends in KZN or in Soweto.

Dear Enock, the R350 SRD grant is not the real problem. The problem is the looting of billions by your friends in high places. To offer this grant requires R60 billion a year, and it helps 13 million people whose lives you have destroyed with your maladmin. Many of them are unemployed graduates. Now, compare that to hundreds of billions siphoned every year by a handful of your cronies.

One meeleon.. no wait.. 100 thousand.. no wait, that doesn't sound right, 10000, wait.. lets use big words like figmentation, ah bugger it just go with the lie that the ANC never promised housed in Alex..

Top quality ANC guy right there.. clearly one of the best they have.
This is very funny. Ramaphosa is such a cynical liar.

I caught a snippet of discussion on SAFM where two bishops were discussing poverty in SA and how black people experienced daily racism and needed to speak out, basically blaming apartheid for poverty and insinuating that white people still embraced it. The fact that SA law is packed with racist regulation and penalties and that the ruling ANC regime has stolen and wasted billions effectively out of the pockets of these poor people completely escaped them, or they pretended it did. Quite amusing in a sad way.

Focus. The topic is the fiscus, not an election.

Correct. He promised to build a million houses in Alex in 5 years as an election promise 2 1/2 years ago. He's only 500 000 houses behind.

If I was president, I would subject these political clergymen to a Bible quiz: Simple stuff like, name the ten commandments. If they fail, I take away the purple robe

Poor, mismanaged and financially overburdened country cannot sustain expanding state welfare?

South Africa's Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana has warned that any plans to introduce a universal basic income grant could result in existing welfare services no longer being available.

I actually think that would be a good thing

Get rid of all the ANC cadres getting rich off providing "free" services.

putting tax money in the hands of those who need it directly gets rid of so much corruption and incompetence. That money is better spent by the recipients.
