Just south of Johannesburg at the Vereeniging and Klipriview Road intersection.
The traffic light has been out of service for weeks, with Metro directing traffic at peak.
Yesterday there was a incident involving a young pupil of the Primary School nearby. I only saw the aftermath, but it looked like the little guy had tried to run across the road and been bumped by a car. Nothing serious - looked like he'd busted his lip open and a number of cars had stopped to help, including a white lady who was holding a cloth to his face.
This morning three guys in EFF shirts and berets were at the intersection - wearing safety vests and holding shjamboks (Ok, one was holding a old tennis racquet - that looked even more intimidating)
Two of them were making sure people didn't just cross the road at any spot, while the other one was escorting groups over at the traffic light.
And a big mama - also wearing a red beret - was standing at the corner, arms crossed, keeping an eye on things.
