SAX Appeal 2016 - Your thoughts?

we want to end the hypersexualised and ignorantly provocative way most people
If you believe that your body is a political statement, show us.
We're not trying to tell you what to do, we're asking that you think
Rather than appropriating a lived reality by commoditising your body,
We are the revolution, and we will not be invisible.

Oh shut the **** up hippies.

Little bit of humor after all the SJW crap :)

So I've been out of Cpt for Sax Appeal sale day for the last 7 yrs.. And the last year I was at varsity and years before I sold quite a few of them. Anyways some stuff I noticed..

1. Magazine cost has gone up a lot since.. It's R30? Nowadays vs the 5-15 when I was a student.

2. Cpt people seem less interested.. I was visiting companies this week and asked them about it and they were like yah.. But bleh. Seems like over the last few years interest was lost.

3. Students selling it seemed unenthusiastic.

4. Cash sales as primary/only needs to be revised.

The quality of SAX Appeal has been declining for over a decade now. A magazine that used to let people put their differences aside for a while and laugh together as one, has become a platform for empty-headed SJW activists.

Since UCT went belly up to the hooligans over the Rhodes statue it will not see a cent from me and, I suspect, a lot of benefactors will quietly withdraw their support.

it used to hilarious - but now, not even worthy of lining the bottom of a bird cage

One comment on the SAX appeal fb sums it up nicely

Michael Keith

I'm personally happy with SAX appeal as a platform for sociopolitical commentary, as students should have a voice and nowhere are they as well represented as in SAX. Have been for decades and should be for decades to come.
However, I'm rather disappointed with what I see as quite a lot of hate speech in this year's edition. According to 197SAX, all whites are racist/all cisgenders are discriminatory/all males are sexist/only black people can save this country/etc etc etc.

Now that's quite a bold generalisation to make. Undoubtedly this is true in many cases but to make such a large generalisation is saddening to me. Don't paint us all with the same brush.

Remember, the NP painted all non-whites with the same brush and look how that turned out. I understand that the white population historically has a lot to answer for, but as a born free I fail to see how pointing fingers at me is going to move this country forward.

Yes, I did also read the article on how white boys from Constantia aren't actually liberal and it made me chuckle because the amount of so called 'liberal socialists' from the southern suburbs is really quite astonishing, but that's not to say there aren't white people out there trying to remedy a dire situation. And just as there are white people dragging us down, there are plenty of non-whites doing the same. Have you seen the "kill all whites" t-shirts and slogans around the country's universities? How about calling them out too? Is that really the way forward, more hatred and finger pointing? Pointing fingers and ostracizing the citizens of this country is not the way forward. It will only cause more strife and damage.

Now, I'm sure that a barrage of hate speech is about to come my way on FB because I'm a "privileged white boy", but I thought I might add my 2c (not worth much, thanks JZ) to the argument.
