... must we still dial a number to the far side of the territories when everyone else at the very least has a share-call number (if not toll free)?

I can only imagine that your customers living out Joburg pay reduced rates for your service, surely?

I don't think I've ever phoned Afrihost. Have you not got a smartphone?

I don't think there is any difference between call-rates from different regions in South Africa anymore, although I may be applying cellular tariffs to the Telkom fixed infrastructure in this case.

We try to offer as many alternative methods of reaching our Support Channels as possible to ensure that no-one has to phone in if they are not comfortable doing so.

You can send a SMS to 32541 containing Help in the SMS, and our Team will call you back as quickly as possible, we also have a LiveChat team available from our home page. You can also log a Support Query using our Email Ticketing system through [email protected].

As far as I know the rates for <50km & >50km became the same in 2013 so I'm assuming all landline calls originating & terminating within RSA cost the same these days irrespective of distance.

I didn't know people still worried about this.

Pulled head out of sand, spat foot out of mouth and wiped egg off my face. You are quite right! Thanks for that AfriGenie.

Now ... what is this smartphone thing you people speak of? :D

Well you see... This Smartphone thing is basically just a portable way to view cute animated GIFs of cats doing strange things! ;)

Who on earth still calls the ISP ? :P

There are so many separate channels available especially the live chat. If calling is an absolute must then well refer to this nifty reply:

It's like the telephone number, call the 011 number, it tells you about LIVE CHAT then for ADSL, push 1... I push 1 constantly, nothing happens... voice options just repeat and repeat.

Afrihost is pissing me off.

When did you try to get hold of our LiveChat team? They should be available from 08h00 to 17h00, Monday to Friday.

Our phone lines are quite busy at the moment - End of Month Billing Queries, and the Eskom Loading Shedding affecting ADSL Users - is causing huge spikes in incoming call.

You are are welcome to PM any of the AfriGeeks, we will definitely be able to assist with you any of your queries.

Oja I forgot to mention the actual reps on the forum.

Afrihost has by far the best support structure of any company in SA
