A bit misleading.....Nokia still around building a launcher (ZLauncher) and apps for Android and providing many other services.

My gut feel is they will start thinking of producing an android phone after their agreement with Microsoft to not produce/sell phones has expired.

I understood that as part of their purchase of Nokia's phone division, Microsoft only got the right to use the Nokia brand for 18 months. Thereafter, brand ownership reverts back to Nokia Finland.

You are quite right. Nokia was complacent and relied on their crappy Symbian system until iPhone came and knock them off their feet. That is why I don't have much sympathy for them. The same applies to Blackberry and even Kodak who even invented the digital camera.
