Dear iBurst Subscriber,

Your xxxxxxxxxxxxxx(Username:[email protected]) account usage reflects the following:

Why does it say 4.5GB?! We have the 3GB package (with the 500MB extra since this month and [I think 20MB] bandwith carried over from the last month).

Is this a typing error or not?

I already asked that question here about the 4,5GB but no body bothered to comment, it seems all the 3GB contract users have that same typo.

I would love to know where Iburst gets their staff from. Idiots-are-us.com seems a good place to start looking. Right from the CEO downwards. I think the current CEO of Iburst is too young, arrogant and simple for the position. However I suppose nepotism pays off.

More than likely as it fits in with the other multiple errors they make on a daily basis.

Haha, I agree... But all jokes and insults aside, can someone please confirm if this is indeed a typing error? Anyone?

The total remaining is still the normal 3.5GB you should get, so I'm sure that is just a typo. You'll find out later in the month in any case..

4,5GB would be more in line with what I'd expect the incentive to be instead of the tiny 500mb after +2yrs of a static service while others are changing.

I bet their new user intake has decreased and still falling since MTN, telscum and Vodacom brought in their new packages.

i dont know if anybody in the cape town area noticed last wendsday when iburst was down till the morning 2'oclock that when it came back the download speeds were godly and still is ive used up my 1gig cap but still getting between 70 and 100 kbs download speeds on utorrent.

The speed thing happens often with iburst during maintainece....but umm...well...it'd be nice if silly people didn't keep reporting it so iBurst don't READ IT HERE and get around to fixing it.....you dig? </mafia>

Basjohn, I doubt that they will know how to fix it, but yes I agree with what you are talking about, same goes for the bragging of high GB downloading.

Dream on

It is quite amusing, seeing the comments when you have some apparent advantage gained from the inept and immature organisation that is iBurst.
We all have to justify our decisions, however poorly or circumstantially made.

iBurst has screwed up big time with its marketing policy vis a vie its m2m clients.

iBurst does not have the raw horse-power to compete with Telkom.

There may be those of you who consider it morally appropriate to support the underdog, but in this case, iBurst has let you down in the biggest possible way.

You have been promised all sorts of things that will come about in the future! Where are they???? The future is today!!

Do you want to continue beating your heads against the brick wall, or do you want to take advantage of Telkom's latest offerings and benefit thereby?

You get speed, good pings, soft capping? etc.

Support the amateurs, or look reality in the face and go with Telkom.

Get real, get the best possible deal.

What is it???

Hmmm, look the monopoly in the face in join Telkom... (Joke)

Speed? My friend has 512kbps ADSL and his speed is HORRIBLE (in his words). Between 4 and 24KB/s... Even if their marketing policies aren't that good for month to month contracts, what do I care? I'm on a 3GB contract. :)

And what is the best possible deal? Certainly not Telkom (at the moment)! And before you start flaming me as a die-hard iBurst supporter, I'm not. I only go on experience, and have had experience with both iBurst and ADSL and chose accordingly. If logic dictates to switch to Telkom, I'd be more than happy to. But right now, iBurst is fine (didn't we have a discussion on iBurst speeds earlier)? ;)

So until it's a viable option to go for Telkom ADSL without banging your head against the wall in frustration because of their horrifying router performance and ADSL speed (this does not apply to everyone, of course), I'd stick with the one with the better performance, stability and excellent support (in my experience).

May the gods be with you, all of you! And, who knows, maybe even me! ;)

[I hereby announce this thread closed because my original questions about the bandwith report were answered. I will ignore any posts beyond my last one. Feel free to start your own.]

WKJ?:beanie, I'm also going to stick around and see what develops in the next month or so, but you have NO option, you have to stick around until your contract expires whether you like it or not.

Well either that or pay up the outstanding contract balance if you want to move to another ISP.

I agree ADSL is not as fast and stable as some make it out to be and in general iBurst would be my better option IF ONLY THEY CAN GET IT SORTED OUT.
