I have also read several other threats regarding what's going to take place after the world cup, apparently being thrown around by everybody from police officers to nurses.
 
Yea i also read something about this a few days ago, more than likely scare mongering but the end of the world cup will mark the end of hope for many i suppose.

Will things return to normal? For the past 4 years or whatever the world cup has been a source of major hope for many, what happens when that hope disappears into the sunset and the realities of this country set back in i wonder?

I reckon it is just scare mongering though, something to sell papers :D

You'll also notice that during the WC few of our politicians have been making their usual dangerous and idiotic comments.

We have a number of Zimbabweans coming to our church who started coming after the last wave of Xenophobic violence. They have confirmed that their lives and homes have been threatened.
 
Our domestic/nanny is also Zimbabwean, and she says that word on the street is that xenophobia is definitely returning after the WC.

Well, hopefully all these rumours will be enough to spur the police into preventative action.

You know very well what I'm refering to, ie the british media "predicting" ad hoc machete massacres during the SWC. So you went to go dig up images to suit your own agenda...

So it turns out that what the British Press predicted was wrong in terms of a current race war... and yet ironically there was already one a few years back.

And what agenda... I just posted a few pictures. Surely people are intelligent enough to draw their own conclusions? Are they not?

Or do you deny that those pictures are real?

Like what I hear from my friends and read in the news.

2000 new asylum seekers a day.
Nothing has changed in the townships, the bosses still come driving in in there new 4x4's once in a while, make promises then bugger off.

Nobody walks on there own in my neighbourhood (if you can call a plot that) as they are scared of the Zimbabweans that sleep where they want and move around in groups mugging anyone they can get hold of.
Last new years someone I know witnessed a murder, Zimbabwean stole a South Africans beer, The south African complained, The Zimbabwean walked up behind him about 10 minutes later with a panga in his hand, slit his throat and walked back into the bushes as if nothing happened.

More and more immigrants coming in, more and more job losses, less food, less space, 1 big powder keg.


On the other hand our cops are better at dealing with it than last time round.
They can fight the symptoms but we need to deal with the cause (25% unemployment and fear).
 
Well not long to go, couple weeks and all will reveled. Zuma will make his speech and the first thing he will say is thank you for being so good but the world cup is over so go mad :D.
 
Given the nature of the challanges that this countries faces, people will always "predict" any calamity would occur just around the corner. Thats all I'm saying. You can sit in your chair and type that your maid or some or other scared person expects something to happen, does not mean its going to happen.

Hell, there is recent case of some white dude taking his dad's rifle and going to take potshots at black people. Does that now mean I must fear being around white people?

Get a grip people...
